*After your dancer performs, please consider going through our Halloween carnival for $5, put on by our Outback Bowl dancers. These dancers are raising money for their trip to Florida this December to dance at the halftime of the Outback Bowl on January 1. They will also be selling light concessions and offering face painting. All proceeds go to these dancers for their trip. Thank you in advance for supporting them!
We have several new options for our 2017-2018 season and I'm so excited to be able to offer more now that we have our own space! Below is a breakdown of what is offered which will hopefully answer some questions you may have.
Core Kick: Core kick is required to add jazz, hip hop, and/or lyrical. Older dancers compete in precision kick categories, but it is so much more than that! We create a strong base for skills, build strength and endurance, increase flexibility and get our dancers unified and dancing as a team! It is our first building block for creating well-rounded dance team dancers! (Core kick classes are Teeny Kix, Tiny Kix, Wee Petites, Wee Kix, Mini Kix, Middle Kix, Junior Kix and Senior Kix.)
Jazz: Jazz teams learn more advanced skills and learn a different type of movement from core kick. Jazz is a great way to add on to your core kick knowledge and take your dancing to the next level! (Jazz classes are Showstoppers, Twinklers, Shooting Stars, and Rising Stars.)
Lyrical: Lyrical is a style of dance that merges ballet and jazz. It is expressive, typically slower, with more fluid movement. Lyrical will increase flexibility, strength, gracefulness and fluidity in motion. Lyrical will also incorporate ballet. (Classes are labeled "Lyrical".)
Hip Hop: Hip hop is high energy street dancing. Dancers gain showmanship and confidence in this class, as well as working strength. We do some stunting, keeping safety in mind at all times. Hip hop is pure energy and fun! We also have hip hop for boys! (Classes are labeled "Hip Hop".)
Technique/Skills: Just as the name suggests, this class will be solely technique and skills. Skills will be broken down in class and this hour will give dancers more time and instruction to master each skill.
Strength for Dance w/ Barre: Strength is so important in dance and this class will get dancers working those muscles! Dancers will do strength exercises at the barre and at center. Dancers will also stretch to increase flexibility, but the focus will be strength.
Dance With Me: Non-performing class for little dancers 18 months-2 years old that are not age-eligible for Teeny Kix. Dancers dance with a parent, grandparent, guardian, nanny, etc.. Each dancer must be accompanied by an adult who participates with the child.
Summer Strength: Don't lose your strength and flexibility this summer! We'll be doing strength drills, stretching drills and working on skills. This class is a challenge, but so good for dancers!
PreK Prince/Princess Camp: This day camp on July 8 will be so fun for our youngest dancers! Dancers learn a routine, do crafts, play games, have snack and perform for parents at the day's end. Dancers are encouraged to dress as their favorite princess! Non-JFK dancers are welcome to attend, so invite all your dancer's friends and neighbors!

Below are guidelines for each class for uniform, hair and makeup for girls. If your dancer’s hair is too short for the given style, use your best judgment and just make sure their hair is out of their face. Makeup is not required for many groups. If you choose to put makeup on your dancer, please make sure it is age-appropriate. Every dancer wearing black pants for kick must wear long black sock underneath, so that when they dance and the pants ride up, it still looks black. Dancers wearing black leggings for hip hop do not need black socks underneath. Contact me with questions.
