This past Sunday when the Jr Jazz / Lyrical team danced at Nationals at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester MN. Here are a few photos that the Just For Kix Home Office captured during their performance.
This team also has been crushing their goals this season, they are so FUN to watch. Their strength, flexibility and willingness to continue to “raise the bar” at each performance have been a coach’s dream come true.

There are 3 judges that judge each routine, each judge can give up to a max of 100 pts.
There are 4 categories that the routine is judged on and each category has different max pts.
- Technique, max of 30 pts
- Execution / Timing, max of 40 pts
- Difficulty, max of 10 pts
- Overall Effect, max of 20 pts
Below is a sample of a Judging Sheet, the difference from the Judging Sheet that was used yesterday is that a Double Platinum scoring was added.
Gold scores still range from 1-4, High Gold is now scores 5-6, Platinum is now 7-8 and Double Platinum is now 9-10.
Once all the teams have competed those team scores are used to determine what place each team received in their division.
For example - If our team has been placed in a division with 4 other teams and all 5 teams received a Double Platinum score. There will be 3 places given for this division, 1st - 2nd - 3rd.
As you can seeing getting a Double Platinum does not always mean you get 1st place, you could get 2nd or 3rd for your division. Also getting Gold does not mean you got 4th place. A team could get a Gold and still get a 1st place in their division.
