Hello Parents and Dancers,

I hope you are having a great summer! I am reaching out to you to inform you about our upcoming parade for the season. We will only be doing the Freeport parade this year, we are unable to do the Melrose parade this year but we will do it next summer!

Anyone and everyone is welcome to come and join the fun of the parade! Dancers must be in 2nd grade and up to walk in the parade alone. Any dancer younger than that will need a parent to walk with them. Parents are also welcome to come and walk the parde with us and help pass out flyers!

Freeport:

*Date- Saturday July 13th

*Parade Start time 1:00pm

*Dancers arrive at 11:45am

*Parents/younger dancers arrive at 12:30am

*Float number- Will inform you when I find out.

*What to wear- Any Just For Kix shirt, any black bottoms, and tennis shoes. Please put sunscreen on your dancer, sunburn is not fun!

*Please bring- A water bottle for your dancer.

*Meeting Location- Parade staging will start along east main street (county rd 157) beginning just east of the church.

*Pick up location- Please pick up your dancer in the field next to the Freeport school. All dancers MUST BE PICKED UP BY A PARENT. I will not let dancers walk by them self. If a dancer is going with a friend I need to know prior to pick up.

If you will be attending the parade this year please send me an email stating that you will be joining us. You will not have to sign up online.

I have the dancers arriving at 11:45 so they can learn a fun and easy parade routine.

Sauk Rapids TWD – Saturday March 30th

Admission: Adults $7.00 / Students $3.00

Meeting Area: We will be meeting in NW105. It is located on the first floor past the commons area. I have attached a map of where it is located. When you arrive, look for a sign with our town name (Melrose) hung on the wall.

Arrival Times: Listed below are the practice times, approximate performance times and approximate award times for all groups. The practice times are when your dancer should be ready to practice, not when to arrive. Thank you for helping your dancer be ready and on-time for practice!

Past Due Accounts: All accounts must be paid in full and competition fees must be paid, otherwise dancers will not be allowed to dance. If you have any questions on your account balance, you may call the home office at 218-829-7107.

Policy for TWD fees: The fees for competition must be paid before the competition. All dancers that are paid will receive a wristband. Dancers will not be allowed on the dance floor without a wristband. Please be advised, the chute person will be checking wristbands and will not let dancers by if they are not wearing one.

Hair:
Mini Kix- Slick back in a bun. One barrette on each side of the bun.
Wee Kix- Half up and curly. Hair bow in front of pony.

Make Up: Red lipstick, blush, and a neutral (tans and browns) eyeshadows shall be worn. Dancers can choose to also wear eyeliner, mascara, and even fake eyelashes.

Sportsmanship: Parents & dancers, please keep in mind that people from other towns may be sitting next to you in the stands or even the stalls in the bathroom. Have a positive attitude all day, no matter how your team places in their category.

Pick up: After awards are done you may come to the floor for a quick picture and you may pick up your dancer from there. If you do not get down to the floor in time please meet us back at our meeting location.
