All dance classes will be put on hold for the next two weeks starting today (3/15). I'm looking into online resources to keep dancers practicing routines, working on technique and staying connected.
As of right now, classes will resume on Monday, March 30th. Please continue to check for updates as this could change. Cancelled practices will be made up later in the season.
Just For Kix has had to lay off their employees at the corporate office during this difficult time. With that being said, phones at the corporate office will not be getting answered, so please reach out to me with any questions or concerns and I will do my best to answer these questions for you. I ask for your patience through this time and ensure that no matter how this all works out, you will receive the services that you have paid for.
1) The Carefree Living Performance that was scheduled on March 26th for Tiny Kix and Wee Petites classes has been CANCELLED. Carefree Living is under a "no visitor" policy to help keep their residents healthy.
2) The Brainerd TWD that was scheduled for March 22nd has been POSTPONED. Just For Kix has made a decision to postpone all TWD competitions in the month of March. The corporate office is currently working hard to reschedule them in late April or May. This is quite a process, so please be patient. Some rescheduling has been done, but it is a PUZZLE so they will not announce dates until they are nailed down. Please note: We are not refunding TWD fees as the events are postponed (and not cancelled). The hope is to reschedule those, which we are working on. If we CAN'T reschedule them we will then refund parents. But at this time they will simply transfer to the new date. When the date is announced if dancers can't attend we will refund them at that time.
3) As of March 13th, McGregor School has sent out an email to families regarding changes that will be occurring in our district. I am currently in the process of finding out if we will be able to hold practices. As of right now, practices will remain as scheduled, but please stay tuned as this evolves.
ADDITIONAL INFO: If we are able to hold classes following our regular schedule, these are some precautions that will be taken:
What Coaches Will Do:
*Bring a spray bottle with a bleach solution (1/3 cup of bleach per gallon of water).
*Spray and wipe down the practice area.
*Instruct dancers to bring a blanket to stretch on.
*Educate dancers on precautionary measures.
*Remind dancers to wash their hands before and after class.
*Pick up/Drop off dancers at school entrance doors to follow the "No Visitor Policy" of the school.
What Parents/Guardians Can Do:
*Remind dancers to wash their hands and to keep their hands away from their mouths and eyes.
*If your dancer is sick, do NOT bring them to class.
*Throw travel-size hand sanitizer in your dance bag.
*Teach dancers how to wash hands…..20 seconds with soap and water!
*Send a LABELED water bottle with your dancer to practice.
What DANCERS/ATHLETES Can Do:
*Wash hands frequently!
*Keep hands out of eyes and mouth.
*Bring hand sanitizer in their gym bags.
*Stay home if you are ill.
*Cover your mouth and nose if you are coughing or sneezing.
*Do not share water bottles, chapstick, towels, etc.
If we are unable to follow our regular schedule, I will send you that information as soon as I have it.
Here are some ideas I have considered in the event this happens.
*Hold Facebook Live Classes/Video Classes.
*Hold classes twice a week once classes resume.
*Extend the season through May and postpone the Spring Show.
*Hold an extended class in May or June that would run similarly to a dance camp
Again, we are taking this on a day-by-day basis and appreciate your patience through all of this. After reading through this information, I encourage you to reach out to me with any additional questions you may have. I am frequently checking my e-mails and responding to texts.
We have two special session classes being offered this spring: Mother/Daughter and Hip Hop!
