Process for Show Day
On the Show day we will have a show for each age grouping in order to stay within the guidelines for pod groupings and number of people at an event. Each age grouping will have an arrival time when they will need to arrive at the Lakeview School. You will enter via the Gymnasium doors and follow the signs to line up socially distanced to have your dancers picture taken. Once your dancer has had their picture taken then you can follow the signs to the Gymnasium. Your dancer would then take their place on the gym floor in their assigned square for the dance they are performing first. If they are not in the class that performs first there will be X's in the back of the gym for them to sit socially distanced and watch the other dancers until it is their turn to dance. After each performance the dancers that need to change uniforms would go do so, then head back to get their picture taken in the new uniform, and then return to the gym to sit in their assigned square for the next dance. This will continue until we have finished all of the dances for that age group, at which time all the dancers will return to the floor to do the finale together. After the Finale the dancers will exit so we can clean the gym before the next group arrives.
Dancers will need to wear their masks upon entry, exit, and during the performance. They will be allowed to take off their mask when they are posed for their picture. The exception to this rule is that preschool and younger are not required to wear a mask. If we are not able to have spectators we ask that one parent come in with the dancer to help them with the pictures and find their square in the gym. Then exit the school and wait in the car until the end of their performance. The exception to this would be for the preschool and younger dancers we ask that at least one parent stay in the gym with them until they finish performing. If we are allowed to have spectators then this part of the process will change.
Uniforms & Shoes
Please use the attached PDF document to check your dancers uniform pieces to make sure that they have everything! I know there are 9 dancers now that do not have all of their uniforms and I am told that they should be here on Thursday this coming week. Please let me know if you are missing anything so I can double check on it. If something doesn't fit then please reorder the new size needed and we can return the one that does not fit for a refund. I have a box going back on January 14th and February 4th.
Make-up and Hair
Here are my thoughts on makeup for the show....I would like to see some for the pictures, but understand that it is going to wipe off under the masks with the exception of probably eyeshadow. So I will leave this piece up to each dancer as to what they feel comfortable with. For hair we are going to do a High Bun for all of the classes except (Teeny Kix, Pre-Petite, and all hip hop classes). Here is the link on how to do a high bun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5hPnxzH6aM&list=PLJYFtDs-byN-Txy-VQlH6WTHordahEVEs&index=4
For all of the Hip Hop classes we are going to do High Pony's, so the dancers can just take out their bun form before going out for their Hip Hop performance. Just have a brush in their bag and we can give it a spray of water to help get out the bun bump.
For Teeny Kix and Pre-Petite they can do a High Pony, Princess bun, or High Bun. Here is the instructions on how to do a princess bun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoWgOSLzkkg&list=PLJYFtDs-byN-Txy-VQlH6WTHordahEVEs&index=5&t=3s
Here is the video on show make-up for those that want to do the full make-up like we use to do, but do not feel obligated to do this if you do not feel it would be worth it with them wearing masks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMmI0u7EXKU&list=PLJYFtDs-byN-Txy-VQlH6WTHordahEVEs&index=3&t=2s
Winter Show Date & Time
I wanted to send out an update on the Winter Show now that I have everything booked! We will have the Marshall Just for Kix Winter Show and individual pictures on Sunday, January 31st at the Lakeview School in Cottonwood! The arrival times, picture times, and performance times are still being worked out. So at this time please set aside 2 PM to 7 PM for the show. I should have these details to you by tomorrow evening.
Videographer
The videographer has been booked for the show, so there will be a live stream of the Winter Show as it is occurring. Then after the show the link will include a playback of the entire show for 24 hours. Since we do not know if we will be able to have spectators or not at the show, I wanted to make sure that everyone had a link available to be able to watch the show. If we are not able to have spectators at the show the ticket price for the show would be per family and include the link to share with friends and family, as well as a link to download the entire show digitally. If we are able to have spectators, due to the number probably being limited we will still have the live stream link available. Video Magic said that they would have a DVD of the Show for sale, should someone want a DVD.
Photographer
I thought it would be best to have the photographer available at the show for us to do all of this at one time, since our COVID restrictions are making it difficult to do on a class night. Thankfully R. Tamm photography has made an exception and is willing to come on the weekend to take the photos this year! Since we are not able to do a group photo with all of the dancers at one time, we will need each dancer to have their photo taken in front of the Green Screen with each of their uniforms on in order to digitally create the group photo. If you would like individual pictures or the sportsmate of your dancer there will be a grey and white marble backdrop that they would need their picture taken in front of. I have attached the order form to the email, but a hard copy will be going home with the dancers this week at class. They will get one order form per class, as there needs to be one order form for each type of dance uniform. If you are going to do a Sibling/buddy photo then you would need an extra form for this. R. Tamm has asked for everyone to please put in one check per envelope to help reduce the congestion.
Attached is our Back to Dance COVID-19 Protocol for the 2020-2021 dance season. This was last updated on August 27, 2020. It will continue to be updated as additional information changes.
Here is the Back to Dance (B2D) Waiver for the 2020-2021 dance season. It must be signed and handed in before or on the first day of dance class.
