Q: Can an individual attend camp without a team?
A: YES! Our curriculum is geared towards teams, but we try to group all individual dancers together. The experience is just as exciting and educational.
Q: Who can attend camp?
A: Any type of team, studio or individual dancer can attend camp. Our schedules and curriculum are planned to work for everyone, meeting a team, studio or individual’s needs. We would love to meet your middle school and high school teams.
Q: What's the Cancellation Policy?
A: Due to hotel, facility and other expenses, camps are not fully refundable.
• 1 month or more before camp starts: $30 non-refundable fee*
• 1 month – 2 weeks prior to camp: $150 non-refundable fee*
• 2 weeks before camp: NO REFUND
*Fee will be taken off your camp payment
Q: How many routines will my team learn at camp?
A: Each dancer will learn at least three full routines plus a “fun” dance offered at select camps. The larger the camp, the more routines offered. The larger YOUR team, the more you can divide up to maximize your learning potential. In addition to these routines dancers participate in a variety of technique classes, team building activities and private coaching.
Q: Are advisors and coaches required to attend camp?
A: Each team is encouraged to bring an adult chaperone, preferably the coach/advisor /director. Coaches benefit from attending camp and can attend at a discounted rate. As Just For Kix continues to set the camp standard, we offer Coaches classes that prepare for team growth. They focus on surrounding coaches with tips on leadership development, as well as the technical tools, to further teams. Our Coaches classes vary from camp to camp. Q: Is there individual competition?
A: Yes! We offer a kicks, leaps, turns and toe-touches contest one evening of camp. This contest showcases individuals. It is an outstanding event for dancers to cheer on their teammates. Teams can enter two dancers in each category. The same two can enter all four or you can shake it up and have different entrants in each category.
Q: What is a home routine?
A: On the first night of camp we offer a HOME ROUTINE SHOW. Dancers perform a routine they have created prior to camp. It is a SHOW/COMPETITION! The focus is on sharing your style with the other campers. This is optional, however we encourage everyone to take part! (Teams either wear their costumes or camp wear, such as matching t-shirts and shorts.) This event counts towards the participation award.
Q: What is your student to instructor ratio?
A: Approximately 1:25. This varies at times.
