Anything But Routine: K-3rd Feet/Leg Drill

01/27/2023

Ali teaches her class a Feet/Leg drill and how they should be landing when they jump up and down.

In this dance training session, the instructor reminds the dancers of a move they have learned previously. The move involves jumping straight up and pointing through their feet, while trying to get their legs as straight as possible. The dancers are instructed to land on the ball of their foot, then the heel, and to focus on keeping their legs straight and pointing their feet. The dancers are also instructed to look in the mirror while performing the move to ensure their legs and feet are in the correct position.

The instructor then demonstrates the move with two dancers and emphasizes the importance of landing on straight legs and pointed feet. The dancers are encouraged to focus on pointing their toes, rather than kicking their legs backward. The instructor also reminds the dancers to jump straight up, rather than jumping forward, as the focus is on proper technique rather than distance.

Throughout the training, the instructor provides feedback and encouragement to the dancers. They praise those who are keeping their legs straight, pointing their feet, and landing correctly. The dancers are also encouraged to move faster and not to pause in between jumps.

In conclusion, this dance training session emphasizes proper technique and form while performing a jumping move. The dancers are reminded to keep their legs straight, point their feet, and look in the mirror for proper alignment. The instructor also encourages dancers to focus on jumping straight up and not to worry about the distance. Through this session, dancers are able to improve their technique and execute the move with precision and confidence.
