Didn't Make the Cut?

05/15/2018

So you didn’t make the team, you got cut from the audition, you didn’t get the part. As dancers, this can be a reality numerous times in our lives. We have just a few pointers to help you through the inevitably not-so-fun period of time after the disappointment…

To start off… congratulations! You just did something applause worthy. You put yourself out there! Maybe all didn’t go as planned, but regardless you accomplished something in the process. You encountered a learning experience, a means of growing as a dancer. This has the potential of occurring many times in your life, and the only thing you can do to better yourself as a result is KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

There is a reason this didn’t happen for you like you wanted it to, and the sooner you figure that reason out, the sooner you will be able to positively move in the right direction. If you can take this downfall as an opportunity to grow and become a better person and dancer, you will be a lot better off than the dancer who turns negative as a result.

DO NOT LET THE FAILURE BECOME WHO YOU ARE.Everyone has potential to be something amazing, but that potential lies in the willingness to grow in spite of failure and obstacles. If you can look at this result as a chance to become stronger, better, smarter, your self-esteem will thank you in the long run. It is your decision to have a positive mindset, as opposed to letting the negative control the person who you are.

It will happen for you! The trick is to keep working at your peak in spite of obstacles that pull you in opposite directions. Your goals will happen for you if you put in the work. Let your past experiences enable you, not disable you. LEARN FROM YOURSELF. And allow yourself to see the positive side to every disappointment.

Peace. Love. Just For Kix.
