3 Day Youth Camps
Let our staff show you how to make your dance dreams possible. Improve your skills, increase flexibility, gain style and have fun at Just For Kix Summer Dance Camp 2010! Dance camp will be the highlight of your summer. We offer high-level instructors and high-energy dance routines.
Camps are organized and efficient. After 30 years, we have the organization of camps down to a science. Dancers are separated by age groups and come together for lunch and shows. We enjoy the heart-warming evaluations on how much parents appreciate our detailed approach. Our staff hopes to see YOU at one of our Just For Kix camps this summer!
4 day Studio Youth Camps
Our 4 Day Studio Camps have all the benefits and features of our 3 Day Camps. The main differences are that dancers will be dancing in our Brainerd and St. Cloud Just For Kix Studios and the instruction will be given over 4 - 4 hour days instead of 3 - 6 hour days.
Just For Kix Studio - Brainerd
K-3rd grade will dance from 8:00 a.m. – noon
Grades 4th -6th 1:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.
We have moved the Brainerd camp to the beautiful Just For Kix Studio. We feel the environment will offer a smaller more contained environment that will be less intimidating to younger children. Older dancers will benefit from the hands on training and mirrors. The Brainerd Studio has 4 mirrored dance rooms. The beautiful harlequin floors were created to cushion dancers legs. It will be ideal for the camp. It also has a comfortable lobby to relax in and a dance boutique.
The Final Show will be held in the large studio with parents standing around the perimeter. It will be low-key and focus on your child's age group only. It will be much smaller than our typical show. Kids will not need to be transported as in the past. You will be watching your child's age group, rather than all of them. We figure you really wish to see your child anyway!!! Expect to stand around the perimeter, as it will be in the studio rather than a gym. We will have a few chairs reserved for those who cannot stand.
The Brainerd Just For Kix Studio is across the street from “The Lodge Hotel” which is convenient for families from other communities that want to come and stay while their child is at Dance Camp. Stay at “The Lodge” and enjoy the water park during off times. Families can experience the Brainerd Lakes area when camp is not in session. The Lodge is within walking distance, across the street from the studio

Just For Kix Studio - St. Cloud
K-3rd grade will dance from 8:00 a.m. – noon
Grades 4th -6th 1:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.We feel the shorter time will actually be MORE productive as the kids will not get so tired. Four shorter days, rather than three longer ones will make the kids more able to retain new material.

FAQ
Q. What can I expect?
A. Each day we start out with MASS GROUP AEROBICS. These are high energy and are led by a motivating staff member. Cheers and announcements follow. Dancers are then divided by age groups. (Dancers who have friends in a different age group may opt to stay with them.) We make sure dancers get to be with some of their friends. Each group NAMES themselves. This helps keep everyone pointed in the right direction.
Q. What will I learn?
A. Camp exposes you to three new routines. Usually a kick, hip-hop and jazz routine plus one technique and skills class. You will change instructors each hour.
Q. What do I wear to camp?
A. Active wear. Something you can dance in. Shorts, leotards, leggings, jazz pants, t-shirts, etc. Make sure you bring a comfortable pair of shoes to dance in too. Tennis shoes or your dance shoes will work great!
Q. What should I bring to camp?
A. You will want to bring a water bottle, snacks for breaks, money for the camp store and a great attitude and smile. Be ready to DANCE and have FUN!
Q. What so I wear to the camp show the final day?
A. Your camp t-shirt, which you will receive Day 1. Bottoms can be any type of active wear such as leggings, shorts, or jazz pants. Shoes can be tennis shoes or your dance shoes.
Q. Won't I get tired dancing all day?
A. Oh yeah....but there are breaks between each class, so bring energizing snacks from home to re-fuel.
Q. Who will be there?
A. You will meet dancers from many different programs in different cities and states, from as far away as Alaska and New Jersey. Lots of Dancers develop pen-pal relationships and look forward to rekindling friendships again next summer.
Q. What about different age levels, how does that work?
A. Dancers are divided into groups, K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th, 6th-7th, and 8th-9th. All dancers can cross over to a different group if the want to be with a friend. (Class divisions will vary from camp to camp depending on size.)
Q. What about Junior High Dancers?
A. We challenge them more. They learn harder routines. The camp staff uses the same materials which they teach around the country at high school camps. Junior high dancers also receive tips on nutrition, technique work and preparation for high school teams.
Q. Do participants have to be members of a Just For Kix program?
A. No. Many of our members bring cousins or friends to camp. There are also many dance studios who send their dancers to Just For Kix Camp.
Q. Who are the camp directors?
A. Camp directors vary from camp to camp. They are strong Youth Program Directors or Camp Directors from our high school camps.
Q. What are the lunches?
A. Lunch is not served at Youth Camps, with the exception of the Bismarck Camp lunch which is catered from the college. The Bismarck lunch is included in the camp fee.
